Melody Market Promotional Design
The objective of this project was to learn and apply effective promotional design. We started by designing a poster and a cohesive visual language that we would be used for app and web design as well. My event was “Melody Market”, a farmers market featuring local musicians that wishes to connect locals to the people who grow their food. I knew from the begining I wanted a very playful and eye-catching yet clean design system. After many iterations (process work visible at bottom of page) I arrived at my final poster.
After the poster was completed I moved on to wireframing a website. Like the poster, the goal of the website was to be both promotional and informative. All of the design choices made for the poster needed to be adapted to the screen. I wanted to continue to expand upon the playful aspects of the design system and explore how tactile interactive features could aid this.

After building the website I was challenged to build an app that would help the user navigate the event. My goal was to create a more intuitive way for the participants to see what was available (in season) before arriving and create a virtual shopping list that could aid in creating a fun, easy, and confusion-free shopping experience. I tried to incorperate many of the elements from the website and adapt what I could to a mobile platform. Most of my exploration was spent investigating how I could best incorporate a tactile and responsive interface that was fun for the user.
